The SHIFTED team is confident that our Maximum Pre Workout formula is the best in the game, but we took it a big step further! We put it to the test in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled research study in the laboratory of world-renowned researcher, Dr. Jose Antonio.
Dr. Antonio is a professor at Nova Southeastern University and an award-winning scientist with an immense background in sports nutrition research. We value the importance of testing the effectiveness of our products so that our loyal customers know they are getting high quality, effective supplements.
Not all pre workout is created equal – and this study showed that a single serving of SHIFTED Maximum Pre Workout can improve sustained attention along with positively altering feelings of fatigue and vigor.
What did the researchers do?
14 trained men and women arrived at the research laboratory on two separate occasions for testing.
During each visit, participants were randomly assigned to drink either SHIFTED Maximum Pre Workout or a placebo 45-minutes prior to measurements of alertness and mood.
Visits were separated by a 1-week washout period, and the participants were blinded to which supplement they were given during each trial.

How did the researchers measure alertness and mood?
Assessments included a psychomotor vigilance test, a profile of mood states, and measures of heart rate and blood pressure. The psychomotor vigilance test is a common research tool to assess sustained attention and is known to activate the visual cortex, motor cortex, and the prefrontal cortex region of the brain.
During this test, participants had to react to stimuli as fast possible while not responding prematurely. The profile of mood states is a validated psychological test used to monitor transient and distinct mood states. This test provides a score for total mood disturbances, anger, depression, fatigue, tension, and vigor. Following these tests, heart rate and blood pressure were measured.
What did the study find?
The study showed that SHIFTED Maximum Pre Workout improved sustained attention and reaction time as well as levels of perceived fatigue and vigor. Importantly, these findings were found without altering the participants’ heart rate and blood pressure.
Shifted Maximum significantly improved fatigue, vigor, and reaction time.
What does this mean to you?
The combination of ingredients found in SHIFTED Maximum Pre Workout significantly improved the ability to concentrate without altering heart rate and blood pressure. Whether you are in the office, on the trail, on the greens, or in the gym, SHIFTED Maximum Pre Workout is an ideal formula for enhancing cognition and delaying fatigue.
The study found that SHIFTED Maximum Pre workout effectively enhances performance during tasks that require sustained attention and mental focus. Just a single serving will amplify your mental drive and performance during a variety of life’s demands by improving the ability to act and react quickly while also improving feelings of vigor and delaying fatigue.
The lead author, Dr. Jason Curtis, says “The ingredients in SHIFTED Maximum Pre Workout have shown great promise in many scientific studies. SHIFTED provides a way to improve physical and mental performance in one convenient drink mix, and when taken regularly, you will also get the long term physical and mental benefits that come with ingredients such as creatine monohydrate and beta-alanine."
SHIFTED Pre Workout was built to provide all the science-backed ingredients at optimal dosages to better your performance, while eliminating the ingredients that have proven ineffective. Get shifted and unlock your potential in and out of the gym!
